It is connected with the BART system at Oakland Coliseum Station by AirBART shuttles; shuttles also connect Oakland Airport to the main bus terminal. The Oakland Airport Connector will be completed by 2014. Serving more than 10 airlines, including American, Delta, Southwest and Alaska Airlines and JetBlue Airways, Oakland Airport is popular with low-cost airlines, and has a record of high on-time arrivals.
San Francisco International Airport
Located 15 miles south of downtown San Francisco, off Highway 101, approximately 43 miles from San Ramon.
San Francisco Airport (SFO), one of the best airports of the nation, is the busiest in the Bay Area, with more than 37 airlines visiting it; it is the hub of the United Airlines operations and the base for Virgin America. It has one international and three domestic terminals. At present the only airport directly connected to BART, the SFO BART station is on the Departures/Ticketing Level of the International Terminal. It can be accessed from any terminal by using SFO’s Airtrain service to the Garage/BART station stop. Passenger screening times at SFO are among the shortest in the nation.
Norman Y. Mineta San Jose Airport
Located at San Jose near the intersection of U.S. 101, Interstate-880 and Highway 87, approximately 40 miles from San Ramon.
San Jose International Airport (SJC), served by more than nine airlines including All Nippon Airways, United Express and American Airlines, as well as three cargo carriers, though the smallest of the three Bay Area airports, is winner of Airport of the Year 2008. Los Angeles, California, Phoenix, Arizona and Seattle, Washington are the chief destinations out of SJC, which is situated in the heart of Silicon Valley. The nearest BART station is at Fremont; the airport Flyer makes a loop between Metro Light Rail Station, Santa Clara Caltrain Station and the airport. Being dropped off and picked up may be the easiest option if you are traveling from San Jose International Airport.
