San Ramon has a few but good and well-known trendy night clubs and bars which light up the nightlife in town.
One San Ramon nightlife hot spot is ShBoom, a nightclub for the Gen-X crowd featuring music from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and popular current hits. One local favorite is The Outpost Sports and Grill, which has been a San Ramon staple for 30+ years for residents and visitors. It is open till 2 a.m. daily. If you prefer to play rather than watch there are billiards, darts, and beer pong for you to work through. Two local microbreweries are favorites for their great beer, service, and casual atmosphere. The Hopyard American Alehouse & Grill is located on what used to be the largest hop farm in the world. Today the Alehouse serves lager, pilsner, wheat, IPA, ale, porter, stout, barleywine, and hard cider. Jack’s Brewing Company brews its own beers on premises offering fresh designer beers. Its menu sports Boys of Summer Wheat, Hardwood Pale Ale, Grid Iron Amber Ale, Penalty Shot Porter, IPA, and seasonal flavors including apricot mango, Hefeweizen, and more.
To catch a movie head on to Crow Canyon Cinema Stadium 6 on San Ramon Valley Blvd. You’ll have several choices of blockbusters and hits.
The great thing about San Ramon (if you don’t want to drive into San Francisco and fight the traffic) is its proximity to several neighboring and thriving cities. A large majority of night clubs and lounges are in cities such as Danville, Dublin, and Pleasanton. Danville has several clubs, wine bars, American traditional and new-style bars, only a 5 mile drive from San Ramon. In Dublin, also a short drive from San Ramon, pubs, karaoke bars, sports bars, wine lounges, and comedy clubs are the popular nightlife spots. Pleasanton offers its pubs, lounges, dive bars, wine bars, dance clubs, sports bars, and karaoke clubs.
