For History Buffs
The Forest Home Farms is a volunteer-run organization committed to preserving and protecting San Ramon's historical buildings, structures, and landscapes. The historical farm with its 16-acre property was donated by the Boone family to the city of San Ramon. Along with the Glass House Museum, this historic park captures a unique time at the beginning of the city’s history. Tours and concerts run by Forest Home Farms give visitors a chance to view a slice of life from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Las Trampas Regional Wilderness
Las Trampas Regional Wilderness is a large tract of wilderness with an expanded trail system for hikers and horseback riders to enjoy its remote and rugged areas. The park is spread over 5,342 acres and is an ideal place for spotting wildlife and birding.
Bishop Ranch Regional, San Ramon
The Bishop Ranch Regional Preserve is a smaller park near the San Ramon Valley subdivisions. If you are looking for quiet and solitude, you’ll find it here. The large natural preserve is a refuge for deer, red-tailed hawks, and turkey vultures. When you get to the top you'll get treated to a fine view of the Tri-Valley area.
Sycamore Valley Regional Open Space Preserve
Sycamore Valley Regional Open Space Preserve spans two prominent ridges over a swath of rolling hills and valleys south of Mount Diablo. The park is rich in wildlife and is a birdwatcher’s paradise.
Dublin Hills Regional Park
Dublin Hills Regional Park is made up of natural grasslands and open meadows. A main ridge runs from the south of the Park to Wiedemann Hill to the north. Deep canyons slice through the park.
The city of San Ramon has more than 50 parks including the large, child-friendly Central Park on Alcosta Blvd where the summer concerts are held. Central Park was recently rebuilt and now has a large and modern set of play structures for wall climbing, rope structures, and athletic activities.
